Dr Gavriel (Gav) Schneider is a globally recognised leader in human-centred risk management and the psychology of decision-making under pressure. As the CEO and Director of the Australian Security Research Centre (ASRC) and CEO of Risk 2 Solution Group—Australia’s most awarded cyber-physical integrated risk business—Dr Gav is at the forefront of shaping national discourse on protective security and organisational resilience.

He is the creator of the Presilience® methodology, a proactive risk and resilience framework that has been adopted by government, defence, and corporate sectors. His innovation in this space saw Risk 2 Solution named on the AFR/BOSS Most Innovative Companies list in 2021.

With over two decades of experience across more than 17 countries, Dr Gav has consulted for a diverse range of clients—from heads of state to multinational corporations. He is also an accomplished academic, currently serving as the Director of the Postgraduate Psychology of Risk program at the Australian Catholic University and a senior researcher with ASRC.

A multi-award-winning thought leader, Dr Gav is one of the few professionals to be recognised four years running on IFSEC’s Global Top 20 Security Thought Leaders list (2019–2022) and was named RMIA Risk Consultant of the Year in 2019. He has authored several publications including the highly regarded Can I See Your Hands, and regularly speaks at international forums on topics spanning strategic security, resilience, and risk intelligence.
