Dr Sally Burt
Lecturer in Cyber Security, University of New South Wales

Dr Sally Burt is Lecturer in Cyber Security at University of New South Wales, Canberra. She received her PhD from the Australian National University in 2011. She is a specialist in Sino-US relations, cyber diplomacy, foreign policy and crisis management in the current international environment. Her research focuses particularly on Cybersecurity and Information Warfare and she is interested in US relations with China and other parts of the Asia Pacific. She also examines multilateral diplomatic groupings such as QUAD and AUKUS. Sally is keen to promote deeper understanding of the human elements of cybersecurity and strategy, and how they influence politics, diplomacy and international relations.

Sally has published in the area of regional tensions and their historical development, cyber elements of grey zone conflict and broader international relations. She has been an editor and author of several books, published journal articles, reports and has presented internationally to conferences and summits. Sally has been a Visiting Fellow at the University of Florida and at West Point Military Academy in New York.
